Mazacruz Cima

Foto:

Mazacruz Cima is elaborated at the Dehesa de Los Llanos (Albacete) property which, with an extension of 10.000 ha, has belonged to the same estate since the 17th century -when it was under the care of the Franciscan order- until today, maintaining an ecosustainable balance.

The current vineyard and winery have been designed following the most modern techniques, with the participation of renowned world-class experts such as Richard Smart (Australia) or Spaniard Ignacio de Miguel, chosen as Europe's best oenologist in 2007.

After intensive and careful ground and microclimate studies a 50 ha plot was chosen as the most appropriate for the cultivation of the Mediterranean varieties that make up these great wines. When the original 18th century maps were consulted, it was discovered that this plot was already called 'the vineyard'!

The varieties used for the elaboration of this great wine are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Merlot.

Tasting notes:

  • Vintage: 2007.
  • Colour: Intense cherry red with good depth.
  • Aroma: Berries, cassis, coffee, pipe tobacco, smoke, cedar. Chalk and pencil tip when it unfolds.
  • Palate: Light attack that swells. Black fruit, new cask. Final tannin, rounded.
